by Kyle Sennish
November 18th, 2008

If you have tried listening very recently and encountered some sound/volume issues or just no stream whatsoever, I have some good news. We finally got all the kinks worked out of our new board and our internet streaming system and we are back up for good!

Thanks for listening!

KSLU at CMJ
General Manager Kyle Sennish, with KSLU Directors Adam Hayes, Lesley Rottsolk, Sanita Saengvilay and Alison Arida hanging out in Time Square. Publications Director Caroline Doerhoff was there as well, but was off working at the time.

KSLU attended the CMJ Music Marathon again this year in New York City, to catch up with the newest music and trends in college radio as well as meet with promoters and students from other college radio stations to share ideas and tips on running a college radio station.

KSLU Undergoes Some Changes
by Christian Skoch
October 22nd, 2008

Unfortunately, KSLU did not achieve enough votes to move on to the next round in mtvU's Woodie Awards.

That's OK though, because we have some big changes coming this week!

We are replacing our mixing board this week. It will take a few days, but our new board will be up and running next week. Until then we are unable to broadcast so if you click on our link and don't hear anything, that's why.

Also, our programming studio is getting some sweet new space-saving furniture: a new wooden desk with equipment racks to eliminate the need for a rack tower. Unfortunately this required a clearing out of the room until the desk is assembled, so the productions studio is down temporarily.

Just wanted to let all our listeners know what is going on this week and let them know we'll be back on the air next week. See you then!

Golf Cart Robot Tries To Take Over The World
by Christian Skoch
September 28th, 2008

Members of KSLU built a robot this weekend to represent our fine establishment in the Homecoming golf cart parade and the Billiken's 100th birthday celebration. Throughout construction, the robot's attitude was fairly docile and there was no indication of anything awry. Only when the engineers added the arms to the robot did it become aggressive. Fearing for everyone's life General Manager Kyle Sennish and his sidekick Gerrit dove into the control center to stop the robot from destroying everything in its path. Other members of KSLU arrested the robot's movements by attaching sticks to the appendages.

All along the parade route the crowd wildly cheered KSLU's efforts and thanked them for saving their lives.

Victory!

KSLU saves the day again!

KSLU Sponsors Billiken Club Bene-Fest!
by Christine Sanely
March 4th, 2008

Saint Louis University's on-campus venue, The Billiken Club, is hosting it's first festival from March 27-29. Coined as The Billiken Club Bene-Fest, they will be accepting donations for The Urban Studio, a not-for-profit community arts organization. Their mission is to use the creative process to help develop individuals' skills, build community assets, promote self-confidence, and strengthen a sense of community. In efforts to further support the local arts, The Billiken Club is also hosting a poster competition, accepting submissions for overall festival posters, and individual shows.

KSLU is thrilled to be co-sponsoring this exciting event with an up-and-coming music blog, Toe Taps and Spastic Claps! While the shows will still be FREE, all ages, and open to the public, we strongly encourage individuals to donate to such a worthy cause. Check out the full lineup for The Billiken Club Bene-Fest, and make sure you make it out to at least one (if not all) of the shows.

Thursday, March 27: Aloha with Anathallo and Ohtis

Friday, March 28: School of Language with Bodies of Water and Riddle of Steel

Saturday, March 29: British Sea Power with The 1900s and Target Market
